No More Offline Gmail In The Chrome Browser (Temporarily)

Some Gmail/Chrome users may be concerned about this.  Google is dismantling it’s Gears service and is killing Offline mail in their browser in the process. Personally if I’m offline I’m usually scaling some hill, then the offline capabilities of my Android phone work fine. But if you really must have Offline e-mail on you desktop, use one of the following options:

  • Mozilla Firefox 3.6
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 8
  • IMAP client (such as Thunderbird)
  • Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook (requires installation of client plug-in)

How To Be More Productive With Google Mail

Here are some tips to hopefully improve the efficiency of peoples use of e-mail. If you take the time to go through this, I promise that it will substantially improve the quality of your life, at least with respect to e-mail.

Labels
Labels are tags that can be assigned to messages.  These replace what was known as “folders” inside Microsoft outlook and many other mail clients.  The difference with Labels is that one can assign any number of labels to a particular message.
